Executive Restaurant Management Programme: The Seven Skills That Separate Good Managers from Great Ones

Great restaurant managers are rarely great at just one thing. They lead people, read numbers, protect guests and staff, and hold standards when the service is falling apart. Most learned those skills the hard way, over years of trial and error.

Executive Restaurant Management Programme is designed to shorten that journey.

The seven skills

Executive Restaurant Management Programme combines seven courses into one programme.

Leadership Excellence: leading a team, communicating clearly, motivating people, handling conflict and developing future supervisors.

Financial Management: food cost, labour cost, budgets and the numbers that decide whether a busy restaurant is actually profitable. Worked examples show several currencies.

Inventory Management: stock control, counting systems and finding the variances where money disappears.

Occupational Health and Safety: the hazards in a hospitality workplace and a manager’s duty to control them.

Cleaning SOPs: standards for kitchens, dining areas and bathrooms, and how to make them stick.

Customer Service Excellence: service standards, complaint handling and building loyalty.

Business Etiquette: the professional conduct that sets the tone for the whole team.

Why managers need all seven

A manager who understands finance but not people will build a spreadsheet nobody follows. A manager who is great with people but cannot read a food cost report will keep a happy team in a failing business. The seven skills work together.

It matters because managers shape everything. Gallup research finds that 70% of the variance in team engagement comes down to the manager. Investing in one manager improves the working life of everyone on their shifts.

Who it is for

New and aspiring supervisors, assistant managers, general managers who never had formal training, and owners who want a structured refresher. It is particularly useful for franchise groups that need managers in every store working to the same standard.

How it works

Managers learn in short lessons on their phones or in the browser, with 30 days to complete the programme. Each course ends with an assessment at a 70% pass mark and a Certificate of Attendance. The bundle is US$239 per person, and prices display in your local currency.

If you want to start smaller, Leadership Excellence and Financial Management are also available on their own.

Build a training ladder

Many operators train front-line staff with Restaurant Staff Excellence, then move their best people into Executive Restaurant Management Programme as they step up. That gives your team a visible path, which is one of the strongest reasons people stay.

Which of the seven skills is weakest in your current management team? Start there.
